A Spring / Summer 2020 Haute Couture collection that's inspired by one of the living creature that produces natural light, called bioluminescence. A certain species of bioluminescence plankton that lives in the sea, Cypridina Serrata, makes a picturesque scenic of a glowing beach at Mudhdhoo Island in Maldives when the sun sets. It glows only on the edge of the water when the mating season begins and as a self defense from predators. Nowadays, people start to develop some kind of bioluminescence technologies. Philips, a lighting company, created a Biolight that uses bioluminescence bacteria, fed with methane and composted material (poop and waste) as an energy source. This light is not only an achievement technologically and scientifically, but it is pretty impressive aesthetically as well. Philips uses a metal geometric frame with an unusual hand-blown glass with a silicon tube that connected to their food source, methane gas. So, this Biolight is a zero-energy and zero-waste home.
